چکیده

Let X be a Markov process characterized as the solution of a martingale problem with generator A, and let Y be a related observation process. The conditional distribution πt of X(t) given observations of Y up to time t satisfies certain martingale properties, and it is shown that any probability-measure-valued process with the appropriate martingale properties can be interpreted as the conditional distribution of X for some observation process. In particular, if Y (t) = γ(X(t)) for some measurable mapping γ, the conditional distribution of X(t) given observations of Y up to time t is characterized as the solution of a filtered martingale problem. Uniqueness for the original martingale problem implies uniqueness for the filtered martingale problem which in turn implies the Markov property for the conditional distribution considered as a probability-measure-valued process. Other applications include a Markov mapping theorem and uniqueness for filtering equations. MSC 2000 subject classifications: 60J25, 93E11, 60G35, 60J35, 60G44

Martingale problems for conditional distributions of Markov processes

Let X be a Markov process with generator A and let Y (t) = γ(X(t)). The conditional distribution πt of X(t) given σ(Y (s) : s ≤ t) is characterized as a solution of a filtered martingale problem. As a consequence, we obtain a generator/martingale problem version of a result of Rogers and Pitman on Markov functions. Applications include uniqueness of filtering equations, exchangeability of the s...

Risk measurement and Implied volatility under Minimal Entropy Martingale Measure for Levy process

This paper focuses on two main issues that are based on two important concepts: exponential Levy process and minimal entropy martingale measure. First, we intend to obtain   risk measurement such as value-at-risk (VaR) and conditional value-at-risk (CvaR) using Monte-Carlo methodunder minimal entropy martingale measure (MEMM) for exponential Levy process. This Martingale measure is used for the...

Optimal control versus stochastic target problems: An equivalence result

Within a general abstract framework, we show that any optimal control problem in standard form can be translated into a stochastic target problem as defined in [17], whenever the underlying filtered probability space admits a suitable martingale representation property. This provides a unified way of treating these two classes of stochastic control problems. As an illustration, we show, within ...

Equivalence of stochastic equations and martingale problems

The fact that the solution of a martingale problem for a diffusion process gives a weak solution of the corresponding Itô equation is well-known since the original work of Stroock and Varadhan. The result is typically proved by constructing the driving Brownian motion from the solution of the martingale problem and perhaps an auxiliary Brownian motion. This constructive approach is much more ch...

Martingale optimal transport and robust hedging

The martingale optimal transport problem is motivated by model-independent bounds for the pricing and hedging exotic options. In the simplest one-period model, the dual formulation of the robust superhedg-ing cost differs from the standard optimal transport problem by the presence of a martingale constraint on the set of coupling measures. The one-dimensional Brenier theorem has a natural exten...
